Donald J.Trump shares image of team heading into Venezuela to “help”

WHITE HOUSE — Donald J.Trump shared an image showing a group entering Venezuela on a Truth Social post on June 28, 2026 at 9:16 PM EST.

The post featured a screenshot of a message from Cory Kilgus on X, posted at 3:20 PM on June 28, 2026. Kilgus wrote, “Our team is in Venezuela and on the way to help!” The screenshot showed two photographs: one selfie of roughly five smiling people inside a vehicle, at least one holding an open passport, and a second image of the group’s vehicle approaching a border checkpoint marked “VENEZUELA” with Venezuelan flags flying overhead.

The nature of the assistance the group plans to provide in Venezuela remains unclear. Neither the original post by Kilgus nor Trump’s resharing offered details about the mission, the organization involved, or the specific goals of the trip.

Trump uses Truth Social, the platform owned by Trump Media & Technology Group, as his primary channel for public communications (see Google). The company launched Truth Social in 2022 after Trump lost access to major social media platforms following the January 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol (see Google). Trump Media has expanded its ambitions beyond social media, announcing plans for a streaming TV platform designed to host content it says other outlets refuse to carry.

In the last 30 days, 221 of 615 Trump posts fell into the “Uncategorized” topic category, reflecting the high volume of image-only or media-only posts the president shares without accompanying text.

Trump posted a different image the previous day, sharing an updated look at the limited edition America 250 passport featuring his photograph (see livenowfox.com). That passport will be available at the Washington, D.C., passport office beginning shortly before July 4, with between 25,000 and 30,000 copies produced.
