Donald Trump, the 47th U.S. president, mocked predecessor Joe Biden’s golf game in a captioned image posted to Truth Social, claiming Biden “isn’t even a 100 Handicap.”

The post carried no additional text beyond the meme, which showed a golfer mid-swing on a course under bold black lettering. Trump, who owns and operates golf resorts across the United States and abroad, framed the jab in the language of the sport itself. In golf, a lower handicap signals a stronger player.

The image drew on golf’s scoring system to sharpen the insult. A handicap measures a player’s ability against par. Even recreational golfers rarely post scores high enough to fall outside a 100 handicap ceiling, making the claim a pointed dismissal of Biden’s competence on the course.

This is Trump’s 14th message released today, and the last post was 11 minutes ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 47 of his 470 posts over the last 30 days classified as Domestic Policy posts.

The barb lands squarely inside a rivalry that has long spilled onto the fairway. Both men have used golf as a proving ground and a punchline, trading claims about their scores and skills for years. Trump benefits by casting himself as the more capable athlete, while Biden, now out of office, absorbs the jab with no official platform to counter it in kind.

Golf sits at the center of American recreation, with the sport counting millions of players nationwide. For the average reader, the post offers little practical consequence and instead functions as political theater, a reminder that personal ribbing between the two figures continues well past the 2024 campaign.

This has happened before. Trump and Biden clashed repeatedly over golf during their debates, including a 2024 exchange in which each challenged the other’s ability to carry his own bag and drive the ball. The sport became a recurring flashpoint, a shorthand for questions about age, fitness and vigor that both camps pressed against each other.

Biden has announced no response, and no date for any reply has been set. The exchange remains a one-sided post absent any official rebuttal.

Golf feuds among American presidents are not new. Dwight D. Eisenhower installed a putting green outside the Oval Office and played more than 800 rounds during his two terms, drawing criticism from opponents who painted him as distracted, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. Woodrow Wilson played thousands of rounds, even on snow with painted black balls, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. The pattern shows the game has served presidents as both refuge and target for more than a century, and Eisenhower’s critics faded while his golf legacy endured.
