WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald Trump endorsed Catalina Lauf, a former presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of Commerce, to represent Florida’s 19th Congressional District.

Trump praised Lauf’s service during his first administration and cast her as a loyal ally who backed his movement from its earliest days. He said she has the courage and wisdom to deliver results for her state and nation.

The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 158 of his 503 posts over the last 30 days classified as Elections posts.

Lauf previously served as a presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Her campaign focuses on economic growth, border security, and energy dominance, according to Trump’s official truthsocial post.

Trump laid out a policy platform for the candidate in the post. He said Lauf will work to grow the economy, cut taxes and regulations, promote domestic manufacturing, and expand American energy production. He said she will fight to keep the border secure, stop migrant crime, support the military and veterans, advance election integrity, and defend the Second Amendment.

The endorsement gives Lauf a claim on the support of Trump’s base as she seeks the seat. Trump described the backing as his complete and total endorsement, the strongest language he applies to candidates he favors. A date for the district’s election has not been announced in the post.
