— The USA will host 2026 FIFA World Cup across multiple venues from 11th June to 19th July 2026, as the tournament is expected to draw global audiences and fans.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been at the forefront of efforts to ensure the 2026 FIFA World Cup becomes a success. He has played a key role in shaping the tournament, including spearheading its expansion from 32 to 48 teams. He has also worked closely with the host nations, the United States, Canada , and Mexico, to coordinate preparations and ensure smooth delivery.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is one of the top trending sports stories in the U.S. The tournament is set to kick off across North America, as pressure intensifies between 48 nations preparing to battle for the prestigious trophy.

This marks the first World Cup to feature 48 teams, up from the previous 32, making the race more competitive. It will also be the first World Cup hosted by three nations.

Defending champions Argentina return seeking to retain their crown, while former champions Brazil, Germany France Spain, and England aim to reclaim football’s biggest prize. On the other hand, debutants Jordan, Uzbekistan, and Cape Verde will defy expectations and make history in their first World Cup match.

Each team faces the challenge of performing on football’s grandest stage.

USA will serve as the tournament’s primary host and matches will be played in major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle ,Houston, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Boston, and San Francisco Bay.

The tournament is expected to boost tourism, create job and business opportunities, and further increase football’s popularity in North America.

There has been a lot of controversy going on as Omar Abdulkadir who was to officiate the tournament was denied entry by US authorities after arriving in Miami. He was to become the first Somali to officiate at a FIFA World Cup.

The ticket prices have also received a lot of criticism. The FIFA President explained that they had to apply market rates because they are in the market in which entertainment is the most developed in the world.

“Hosting the FIFA World Cup is expected to have significant economic and social impacts on the three nations. It will boost tourism and millions of fans will travel to the host cities. It will create business and job opportunities in various sectors. It will also strengthen the football's popularity". Gianni Infantino said.”
