Donald Trump endorsed Zach Lahn for governor of Iowa on a Truth Social post on July 10, 2026 at 1:26 PM EST (see truthsocial).

Trump described Zach Lahn as a “sixth generation Iowan” and a “very successful businessman” who understands the policies needed to grow the economy, cut taxes and promote domestic manufacturing. Trump also highlighted Lahn’s background as a family farmer, calling him “an incredibly effective voice for Iowa agriculture.”

The endorsement outlined a broad policy agenda for the gubernatorial candidate. Trump said Lahn would safeguard elections, secure the border, stop migrant crime, ensure law and order, strengthen support for military members and veterans, and protect Second Amendment rights.

Trump carried Iowa in the 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential elections, a fact he cited to underscore his connection to the state. The endorsement adds Lahn’s name to a growing list of Trump-backed candidates in state-level races across the country.
