The post relayed a memo from Greg Wischer, a deputy assistant secretary at the Department of the Interior who has served as a critical minerals consultant, describing a near-total replacement of the fountain’s infrastructure. Wischer said the fountain had suffered structural deterioration and that every major component — from pumps and piping to masonry and electrical systems — was swapped out and upgraded.
