— Donald J.Trump highlighted Markwayne Mullin’s claim that 2026 deportation numbers will soon exceed the entire 2025 total by mentioning the source (see breitbart) on a Truth Social post on June 28, 2026 at 6:42 PM EST.

Here is the full post (see truthsocial): “Exclusive — Secretary Mullin at 100-Day Mark at DHS: “Deportations Are Way Up,” 2026 Stats Set to Outpace “Well Past” 2025 Numbers: https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2026/06/28/exclusive-secretary-mullin-at-100-day-mark-at-dhs-deportations-are-way-up-2026-stats-set-to-outpace-well-past-2025-numbers/”

Markwayne Mullin, the Secretary of Homeland Security, told Breitbart News that deportation figures for 2026 are on pace to surpass the full-year 2025 totals within roughly six weeks. “We’re on a path this year — ’26 — to well past what we did in ’25,” Mullin said in an interview at DHS headquarters in Washington. He added that federal agents across the department’s 22 components are removing people from the U.S. interior at record rates.

Mullin described a strategy centered on individuals with criminal records, active felonies, or final orders of removal from immigration judges. “We’re going after the worst of the worst,” Mullin said. He noted that when agents serve warrants, they rarely find the target alone. “Usually there’s three to four other occupants, individuals, with them that are also illegal, so we’re picking up the one and we run into them having three or four — actually it’s just an average of over four with them at the same time and we arrest those individuals too,” Mullin said.

Mullin was sworn in as Secretary of Homeland Security in late March 2026 after Donald J.Trump reassigned former Secretary Kristi Noem to focus on Latin American affairs (see whitehouse.gov). A former U.S. senator from Oklahoma, Mullin received a quick confirmation from the Senate and started earlier this spring (see Google). His 100-day mark falls on Thursday.

The Department of Homeland Security oversees 22 components responsible for border security, immigration enforcement, cybersecurity, and disaster response (see dhs.gov). Mullin told Breitbart News he coordinates with the State Department, the Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency, Agriculture, Commerce, and Treasury, among others. “There’s not another agency or cabinet position that works across the board,” Mullin said.

Immigration enforcement has remained a central policy priority for the Trump administration. The intensified pace of deportations carries direct consequences for border communities and migrant families already in the country (see theguardian.com). Civil-liberties groups and some lawmakers have raised concerns about due-process protections during large-scale interior enforcement operations (see pbs.org).

In the last 30 days, 12 of 614 Trump posts on Truth Social addressed the topic of immigration, placing the subject among his recurring policy themes during this period.
