WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald Trump nominated Dr. Heidi Overton, a White House domestic policy adviser, to serve as commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Trump praised Overton in the announcement, saying she has worked with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Dr. Oz on the administration’s health agenda. He said she would push priorities including faster cures, clinical trial reforms and lower drug prices.
