— Ivory Coast qualifies for the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team sealed their monumental qualification from Group E by coming in second place with 6 points, aided by a 2-0 win over Curaçao in the group-stage finale, courtesy of a brace from Nicolas Pepe.

Amadou is an Ivory Coast Supporter. He has been following the matches keenly and supporting his country throughout the tournament. After losing to Germany in their second match, Ivory Coast came back stronger to finish second in their group to qualify for the round of 32. This did not come as a surprise, as they had shown their capabilities during their encounter with Germany, even though they went on to lose the match in the dying minutes of the game.

Ivory Coast started the World Cup on a high by beating Ecuador 1-0 in their opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. A goal from Amad Diallo in the later stages of the match was able to secure a win for the Elephants.

With this win, they were rightfully positioned in the table as they faced Germany in their second match. The match did not lack a surprise as they went ahead to score first. It was a tough encounter with Germany trying hard to get in on goal, and finally, they succeeded.

Ivory Coast did not manage to hold on to the lead until the final whistle as they lost the match 2-1 in injury time after a defensive lapse. This does not mean that they did not have chances of their own to also score and go ahead in the match.

The loss did not kill their spirit and chance to qualify as they came into their final match with only one goal, which was to win and qualify for the round of 32, which was made possible through a Nicolas Pepe brace. Pepe scored twice to win the match 2-0 for the Ivory Coast.

“It means we continue to enjoy the World Cup at the moment,” said Alex Amadou.

Now that the team has moved on to the next phase of the competition, Ivory Coast is set to face Norway in their knockout match. This will not be an easy encounter, but the team is confident and ready for the challenge. The fans are also on board and behind the team with a lot of hope and confidence for this encounter.
