Trump touts Apple’s $30 billion chip manufacturing push in the United States

Trump apple and Broadcom plan to produce 15 billion chips at an expanded facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, creating hundreds of jobs.

WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald Trump promoted Apple’s plan to invest more than $30 billion in domestic chip manufacturing by mentioning the source (see foxbusiness) on a Truth Social post on July 10, 2026 at 7:19 PM EST.

Apple announced the investment in partnership with Broadcom. The companies plan to produce 15 billion chips and create hundreds of jobs in the United States (see foxbusiness). Broadcom’s facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, will expand its capabilities to manufacture the chips. The components are central to the performance and connectivity Apple delivers to customers.

Apple CEO Tim Cook praised both companies’ “commitment to American manufacturing and innovation” (see foxbusiness). “The cutting-edge components built in Fort Collins are essential to delivering the incredible performance and connectivity our customers expect,” Cook said in a statement. Cook added that Apple is “grateful to the President and his administration for supporting important projects like this.”

Broadcom President and CEO Hock Tan said his company is “proud to continue to work with Apple after decades of success together” (see foxbusiness). The deal takes the form of a multi-year agreement for Broadcom to supply custom silicon components and advanced wireless connectivity technologies for Apple products (see apple.com).

The commitment fits a broader pattern of Apple investment on domestic soil. Apple has announced a total of $600 billion in spending over a four-year period since the start of the second Trump administration, including the manufacturing of AI servers at a facility in Houston (see foxbusiness). A Trump administration official called the announcement “another major win for America.”

The global chip supply chain has faced sustained pressure from geopolitical tensions and pandemic-era shortages. Those forces have prompted both government incentives and corporate pledges to bolster U.S. manufacturing capacity (see manufacturingdive.com).
