The sign reflects the official renaming of Palm Beach International Airport, which took effect on July 9, 2026. The Florida Legislature approved the name change through bill HB 919, and Gov. The renaming has drawn legal challenges. Pilot George W. Poncy Jr. filed a lawsuit arguing the law exceeds state authority and could pose risks to aviation safety. A separate legal action filed on July 2 by attorney Victoria Doyle challenges the trademark licensing agreement signed with the company managing the president’s intellectual property (see cibercuba.com).

A trademark agreement tied to the renaming has also raised questions. Under a contract signed by Trump and reviewed by the Miami Herald, any retail business that wants to sell products bearing the airport’s name must purchase those products from entities designated by Trump’s licensor (see irishstar.com). Trademark attorney Josh Gerben said the agreement’s non-exclusivity clause creates a potential loophole allowing Trump’s companies to sell airport-branded items off-site for profit.
