Pomp’s Tire Service awarded $70.2 million Army wheel and tire contract
The New Berlin, Wisconsin-based tire supplier will build wheel and tire assemblies for the Army's Palletized Loading system under a five-year deal running through July 2031.
NEW BERLIN, WISCONSIN — Pomp's Tire Service has received an estimated $70.2 million Army contract for wheel and tire assemblies for the Palletized Loading system, the Defense Logistics Agency announced on July 10, 2026.
The firm-fixed-price indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award went to the New Berlin, Wisconsin, contractor through a competitive acquisition that drew one response (see war.gov). The five-year contract carries no option periods, and its ordering period ends on July 10, 2031. The Army is the using military service, with funding drawn from fiscal 2026 through 2031 Army working capital funds. Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support in Warren, Michigan, is the contracting activity (SPRDL1-26-D-0045).
Pomp's Tire Service dates to 1939 and operates from Green Bay, Wisconsin, serving customers from Ohio west to Washington state (see pompstire.com). The company runs a commercial tire and retreading business alongside auto and light-truck service, and it has expanded through acquisitions of GCR locations, retread plants and independent shops (see Google). Its reported revenue ranges from $500 million to more than $1 billion, and it employs roughly 1,000 people (see Google).
The award marks the first contract recorded for Pomp's Tire Service in 2026 and the first Department of Defense contract in Wisconsin during the year. It ranks as both the largest and smallest Defense Logistics Agency contract logged in 2026, at $70.2 million, among nine Department of Defense contracts announced nationwide on July 10, 2026.
